Coaches
Good coaching is the whole point. Our coaches lift, compete, and study the craft. They also know when to push you and when to back off.

Marcus Delgado, Owner and Head Coach
Marcus opened Ironworks in 2016 after ten years of coaching out of a cramped two-car garage. He wanted room for more racks and more people. He found an empty steel warehouse on Foundry Road and got to work.
Marcus has competed in powerlifting for 15 years. He writes the class programming and coaches the 5:30 a.m. crew himself.
Ollie Nguyen, Powerlifting Coach
Ollie runs our powerlifting team. He's taken more than 60 lifters to their first meet, and he handles every one of them on the platform. He loves spreadsheets, bar speed, and a clean lockout.
Tasha Brennan, Strongman Coach
Tasha has competed at the national level for nine years. She coaches every strongman session and owns the gym record on the 365-pound stone. Ask her about grip. You'll get a 20-minute answer.
Renee Castillo, Classes Lead
Renee has coached classes here since 2017. She specializes in beginners and older lifters. Her rule: nail the pattern, then add the plate.
How we coach
- Form first. Always.
- Progress you can measure in pounds and reps
- Programs adjusted to your recovery, not a fixed calendar
- Straight talk, no shouting
What members say
I'm 58. Renee taught me to deadlift from zero. My back has never felt better.
